BUT ALSO

I forgot to mention, in my collection of Coachella tunes,
this one, brought to us by Busy “P’tit quart d’heure Dubstep” P,
which really made us lose control everytime :
“Sweet Shop” by Doctor P.

This whole stuff kind of brings back now-guilty ? pleasures
such as shadowesque beats, Dr Octagon and scratch music,
with that english flavour on top of it.

Remember that Q-Bert /Dj Shadow thing ?

These things were good (when they were good)
just like this Craze routine during the 1999 DMC contest,
body tricking over a Dj Vadim beat. MEMORIES !

Craze was ridiculous in terms of style, creativeness and sharpness.
One thing leading to another, I’d like to share that set which I loved :
Dj Dexta (The Avalanches DJ) crossing boundaries at this VERY Hip Hop event,
and showing a lot of balls, class and skills.

Indeed the Non-HIP HOP djs weren’t always the whackest !
Dj Swamp was crazy with his Jay (and Silent Bob) look,
awkwardly breaking his records at the end of the set, and being ill.

Reminds me of back in the days, chilling at my buddy’s Dj Pone’s,
smoking weed and drawing while listening to the new beats of the week.
Late 90’s style !

Travis x3

HAY_GUYS_by_Bishie_Glomper
For a reason I ignore, this is the 3rd time I’m doing an artwork that involves Travis Barker.
1st time was featuring him in Kid Cudi’s “Day ‘N’ Nite” video.
Being friends with Cudi, he dropped by the shoot.

2nd time was when Dj AM (miss you) decided to release
the recording of their Coachella 2009 live set as a mixtape,
and asked me to design the cover for it.

The 3rd time takes shape as a cover for STATUS magazine
which was released last monday.
It features an article on Travis,
but also on a man that not only I respect as a designer,
but also as a human being,
that you should urgently check out,
and who goes by the infamous name of So Me.
12-FINAL
On holidays, you often have a song that will forever remain the soundtrack of that very year.
It will always work as madeleine de Proust.
Last year, during our Coachella breakaway, the crew’s darling was “High Together” by Siriusmo.
2008 was Puzique “Don’t Go” (to Alex Boysnoize great embarrassement).
This year in Pedro’s cadillac, the track that fitted most the Indio’s desert was Liars’ “Scissors”.
Here’s the video I mentioned, P :

Meanwhile, in the kitchen, some where hysterically singing along
to François de Roubaix’s “Pépin la Bulle” :

In Amandine’s car, Stuck for 5 hours on the road,
only 2 blocks away from the parking lot of the festival,
missing half of LCD,
we (almost) managed to keep our cool
because breakbot was constantly playing this track :
